Company History

Clifford H. Jones was born in Risca, Wales in 1915. He worked as an engineer at various airplane factories during the Second World War and served in the fire department during the Nazi blitz creek bombings in Birmingham England. Immigrating to Canada in 1955 he worked at the Tool and Die trade in Toronto, before moving to Buffalo NY in 1957. His wife and family stayed in England awaiting word that he had made a go of it in the colonies and had enough money for them to join him. The family made the move in 1957 and they settled in Tonawanda NY when he got a job at Ford Motor Co. After working at Ford for several years he  acquired a job at Buffalo Molded Plastic in Cheektowaga NY. He really took to building injection molds and decided to make it his life work. In 1962 along with Robert Lyngberg they started Ultra Tool in Tonawanda NY. After four years, he decided to go on his own and bought the tool room assets of Mirror Lite Plastics who were going out of business. Clifford H. Jones Inc. was Incorporated in 1968 and with the help of his son Phil Jones (that’s me) started a successful mold.
